Amanda Merl

Amanda Merl joined Capitol Strategy Group as a consultant in 2017. Her experience in political fundraising and compliance of 15 years blends a unique history working with both statewide and local candidates.

Amanda will be quick to tell you fundraising and compliance found her by wanting to stay out of Washington.  After college, she moved to West Virginia to work for the State Republican Party GOTV efforts in 2004. During a time of post-election transition at the state party, she filled needed fundraising and compliance roles—mailing fundraising appeals, organizing finance teams and reading FEC and state compliance law. Her hard work ethic and desire to stay in the field landed her in Hickory, North Carolina, door knocking for then, first-term Congressman Patrick McHenry summer of 2005. While other campaign workers went back to school or moved to Washington, Amanda stepped up and took on the fundraising role as Finance Director directing state fundraising efforts and events. Amanda would go on to work for Senator Saxby Chambliss in Atlanta and Senator John Cornyn in Austin as well as to serve as a consultant for a variety of Leadership Committee, Joint Fundraising Committees, federal and state Political Action Committees and campaigns.

She currently serves as a fundraising consultant to state and local elected officials, candidates and PACs in Atlanta.

Amanda Merl is a graduate of Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, where she received a B.A. in Political Science from the Douglas MacArthur Academy of Freedom honors program. She also received a Minor in History.
