Laura Willis Dunaway brings years of political fundraising experience to Capitol Strategy Group and to the clients of the firm. Dunaway joined Capitol Strategy Group as a partner in early 2005. She specializes in and manages many of the firm's fundraising, marketing, and event planning projects. Dunaway focuses on the fundraising efforts for Congressman Rick Allen in Georgia’s 12th Congressional District, Congressman Drew Ferguson in Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District and serves as a consultant for a number of fundraising projects.

Dunaway began her political fundraising career in 2000 with an internship at a prominent Atlanta political consulting firm. She worked closely with the firm's senior partners to develop the skills necessary to build and maintain a successful fundraising program, working on various campaigns throughout the southeast, including then-Georgia Congressmen Saxby Chambliss and Bob Barr and North Carolina Congressman Robin Hayes.

Over the past decade, Dunaway has played an integral role in numerous political campaigns. Her talents have helped raise the millions of dollars necessary in victories like then-Congressman Saxby Chambliss' historic election to the United States Senate, playing a significant role in raising over $6 million to unseat the incumbent U.S. Senator, Congressman Lynn Westmoreland’s election in 2004 that was ranked number four nationally in fundraising among candidates running in a race for an open seat, Governor Nathan Deal’s successful gubernatorial campaign and most recently the historic victory of Congressman Rick Allen over John Barrow in Georgia’s 12th Congressional District. Dunaway especially enjoys working in these Democratic strongholds and is proud to have been a part of Congressman Austin Scott’s stellar victory over Jim Marshall and was honored with the opportunity to venture outside of Georgia and participate in unseating another Democrat in Alabama’s 3rd Congressional District with the election of Congressman Martha Roby.

These exciting campaigns and others have allowed Dunaway the opportunity to plan and execute events with President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leaders Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy and many other Congressional Leaders. Capitol Strategy Group is often called upon to plan and execute events in Georgia by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and Senate and Congressional candidates from outside of Georgia and Dunaway enjoys playing a role in such events.

During the 2008 election cycle, Dunaway developed the firm’s fundraising and database management program that is designed specifically to meet the needs of state legislators. Upon development of the program, Dunaway recruited and managed the State House and State Senate members’ fundraising programs. This program offers full fundraising services to candidates and elected officials and is a customized, creative approach that is tailored to meet the client’s individual needs and preferences.

Dunaway is also proud to be a part of the Georgia FFA’s Annual Blue & Gold Gala. Dunaway spearheaded the CSG fundraising team in organizing and executing the First Annual Blue & Gold Gala in 2008. The Gala was overwhelmingly successful and not only exceeded fundraising goals, but also the expectations of the non-profit organization and has become the organization’s largest and most successful event. Since inception, the Gala has grown each year, including nearly 500 guests and numerous high-ranking elected officials.

Dunaway was born and raised in Moultrie, Georgia and is proud of her strong Southwest Georgia roots. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in Speech Communication. She and her husband Davis live in Augusta, Georgia and are members of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church. They are the proud parents of a son and daughter, Sam and Lane.
