Since 1990 the partners of Capitol Strategy Group have specialized in fundraising for candidates, PACs and other organizations in Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas and Washington, DC. Our vast experience enables us to offer expert fundraising consulting to our clients.
2008 election cycle clients include Major General Rick Goddard in the 8th Congressional District, one of the top two targeted races in the nation, the Friends of Fred Thompson presidential campaign’s fundraising effort in Georgia and Congressman Lynn Westmoreland. In 2007 the firm began offering a newly created fundraising program specifically designed for numerous state Senate and House clients, many of whom hold key Chairmanships within the Georgia General Assembly. The program has been extremely successful and has moved many of our state elected officials to the top 10 in terms of contributions raised for the cycle.
Capitol Strategy Group’s fundraising team also organized and executed the Georgia FFA Foundation’s First Annual Gala & Auction at the Georgia Aquarium in 2008. The event was overwhelmingly successful and exceeded the fundraising goal as well as the expectations of the non-profit organization.
Our firm also works with a number of state society/association political action committees (PACs) in raising funds from their respective memberships. We have been successful in helping an existing PAC more than double its member participation, and they have met or exceeded their set goals. In 2006 we helped a large association establish their PAC, and it continues to grow today. We offer a range of PAC services, including PAC management. We have also worked with corporate PACs at the federal level.
Our firm was responsible for raising in excess of $10 million for our clients in the 2006 election cycle. From the re-election campaigns of Congressmen Tom Price and Lynn Westmoreland to U.S. Senate Candidate Ed Bryant in Tennessee and former Congressmen Max Burns’ and Mac Collins’ campaigns in Georgia, we were able to provide each with a fundraising effort far exceeding their goals. The Burns and Collins races were among the most closely watched in the country and ranked number one and two nationally in fundraising among candidates running in challenger races. We planned and executed events with President Bush for both Burns and Collins simultaneously, which each raised over $400,000, as well as events with Vice President Cheney, which each raised over $250,000.
The campaign fundraising efforts of Congressman Tom Price and Congressman Lynn Westmoreland ranked numbers one and four respectively among candidates in the nation running for an open seat in 2004. Partners in our firm had the honor of working with Senator Saxby Chambliss while he was in Congress and also in his 2002 historical election to the U.S. Senate, playing a key role in making sure he raised the funds needed to win. Congressman Bob Barr’s re-election campaigns in 2000 and 2002 that placed among the top five in the country in fundraising were orchestrated by one of our founding partners. When Texas Governor Rick Perry first ran for Lt. Governor in 1998, he broke all fundraising records for that office in Texas, which was led by a partner of our firm. This partner also raised funds for Senator Phil Gramm’s 1996 presidential bid. Partners of the firm have worked for the National Republican Senatorial and Congressional Committees as well.
Our firm has the knowledge and infrastructure crucial to building an effective fundraising program. We have essential expertise in writing and implementing a comprehensive finance plan including small and large events, direct mail and telemarketing solicitation as well as a candidate call program. We work in concert with the client’s consultants and staff to make sure the campaign, PAC or organization has the funds it needs to achieve success. Having worked with numerous political campaigns, high pressure deadlines are our strong suit.
Whatever the size and scope of a client’s fundraising or event planning needs are, Capitol Strategy Group is well prepared to meet the challenge.
